SMART 2.0 program

The Scope for Mainstreaming Ayurveda Research among Teaching Professionals (SMART) 2.0 program, initiated by the Ministry of Ayush, promotes robust clinical studies in priority Ayurveda areas through collaboration with academic institutions and hospitals. Its objective is to generate tangible evidence demonstrating the efficacy and safety of Ayurveda interventions using interdisciplinary research methods, translating findings into public health care. Key research areas include Bal Kasa, malnutrition, insufficient lactation, abnormal uterine bleeding, osteoporosis in post-menopausal women, and Diabetes Mellitus (DM) II, focusing on safety, tolerability, and adherence to Ayurvedic formulations.
