Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change notified Environment Protection (End-of Life Vehicles) Rules, 2025

Notified under the Environmental Protection Act, 1986, the new regulations will take effect on April 1, 2025.End-of-Life Vehicles (EoLV) are defined as vehicles that are no longer validly registered, deemed unfit through Automated Fitness Centres, or have had their registration canceled.

• Scope: These regulations apply to vehicle producers, registered vehicle owners, Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facilities (RVSF), automated testing stations, and other entities involved in the assessment, handling, processing, and scrapping of EoLVs.
