Enhancing India's Disaster Resilience
India has significantly improved its disaster management since the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami, which claimed over 230,000 lives. The Disaster Management Act of 2005 led to the creation of the National Disaster Management Authority and National Disaster Response Force. However, with its vast coastline, diverse geography, and increasing climate vulnerabilities, India faces ongoing challenges in disaster response, necessitating continuous advancements and vigilance to ensure resilience and effective management.
