Defamation case: Uttar Pradesh court orders personal appearance of Rahul Gandhi on July 2
A defamation case was filed against Rahul Gandhi in 2018 over his alleged objectionable remarks against Amit Shah.
An MP-MLA court in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh, has summoned Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to appear on July 2 in a defamation case filed by BJP leader Vijay Mishra in 2018 over alleged remarks against Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Despite objections from Gandhi's lawyer and the complaint lawyer, the court dismissed a petition to involve another party in the case. Gandhi had previously appeared in court in February during his "Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra" and was granted bail at that time.
